CONGRATULATIONS, DROVERS RETURN, ON YOUR 9TH ANNIVERSARY AND THANK YOU FOR BEING THERE

Remember the old days, with burnt out cars in the park, the likelihood of having your car broken into when you walked your dog, and a dilapidated toilet block at the end of the car park ?

In 2008 Colin Ingle had the imagination, courage and persistence to plough his savings and his efforts into transforming the old toilets into a bijou café and wow! hasn’t it made a difference ! The Country Park is now a lot safer than it used to be. Colin said that it was his intention to foster a greater community spirit and we think he has achieved that in bucket loads and then some !

The Drovers Return opened 16th July 2011 and its reputation for quality food, cleanliness and value for money has been quietly growing ever since.

The Friends of West Hunsbury Parks were established in 2009 and have endeavoured since then to promote the parks and to help maintain them. But we could not have achieved half of what we have done without the Drovers Return being there. Colin has always been a great supporter of the Friends, and he and his staff have often stayed open late at night to cater for our evening events, and he has even added our small Information Centre onto the side of the café for us to promote the flora and fauna (and the events) that you can find in the Parks. We do our best to reciprocate.

So congratulations Drovers Return, Colin Ingle and all the hardworking staff, on proving all the early doubters wrong, and thank you for being there for the last 9 years. May you go from strength to strength.
