Winter Walk Went Wery Well

Thank you to everyone who turned out on a pretty dull (but dry and mild) Friday afternoon for our 2nd Winter Walk. We counted 65 people and 12 dogs, all of whom were very well behaved. No heffalumps or woozles were found, although there were some suspicious looking burrows around the Hillfort, but the children were kept busy with a brilliant Poem Quiz, having to answer questions based on the poems that the Friends had ‘planted’ around the Walk earlier.

We all returned to the Drovers after the walk for complimentary hot drinks and nibbles, including sausage rolls, mince pies (and a share ‘n’ tear toffee apple Christmas tree !) and chocolate cake.

BIG, BIG, THANK YOU’s to Colin for keeping the Drovers Return open especially for our walkers, and to Marion and the lads for helping Colin serve all the hot drinks. The Friends really do appreciate the fantastic service you provide for us.

The Friends thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and were delighted to be able to tell so many of you about our lovely parks and hillfort. Please let us know via Facebook if you enjoyed the format, including the poems and quiz, so we know if we should repeat it or change it next year.

We’ve put a few photos in our Gallery. Please keep an eye on our website and Events Being Planned to see what we are planning for the coming months.
