The Friends get another award for Northampton-in-Bloom

Congratulations and thanks to everyone, Friends and public alike, who helped us get another “Blooming” award this year.

The Silver Gilt certificate was collected at the beginning of October by Mavis Wilmshurst, the Friend’s Chair, and Anne Jones,  our Deputy Chair.

Paul Townsend, the judge who visited the Country Park in July for the competition, was enthusiastic about the work being done by the Friends, saying

“I was very impressed by the new tree trail and the community engagement with so many different groups. The park looked wonderful – I did not see one piece of litter and it is a wildlife haven with so many different habitats from the open grassland to the plantation woods to the park land itself. This is a year-round group who are also passionate about the park environment with school groups and Vikings aplenty. What a great Bloom entry.”

This year’s Silver Gilt certificate will be added to our trophy cabinet to supplement our Gold from 2018 and our Silver from 2014, as well as our Judges Award from East Midlands in Bloom in 2014. You can see all our certificates in our Gallery.
