Tree Trail will now stay LIVE (& FREE)

Thank you to those of you who turned up for our Guided Tree Trail Tour on Saturday 30th March. The weather was very ‘spring-like’ , which made the tour even more enjoyable.

Special thanks to Francesca Service of Northampton Museum who devised the Tour; our Events Manager Luisa Jepson; and our Project Manager, who wishes to remain nameless, for sorting it all out.

The Tree Trail will now remain Live (and FREE) as long as you want it to. Maps and leaflets are available from the Drovers Return café and also from Hunsbury Library in Overslade Close.  Don’t forget to install a QR Code reading app onto your mobile phone.

The trail will only take about 30 – 60 minutes. It is based on the Tree Health and Safety Report that we commissioned from Brampton Valley Training in April 2018 as part of our Heritage Lottery Funded project. The Report can be viewed via our website (Tree Trail and Tree H&S Report) and includes a link to an interactive aerial Google-view of the Hill Fort which provides details of specific trees within the survey by clicking on the tree indicators.

Using the report, and with the help of Francesca Service, the Friends have identified a number of specially interesting trees around the Country Park and have installed posts with  QR code plates which will provide details about each tree when scanned by an appropriate app.

Please also check our Events for 2019 news/events post for other exciting events being planned.
