Andrea Leadsom MP recently met the Friends of West Hunsbury Parks to learn about and help publicise their exciting participative events planned for 2018. These include family activity days centred around the landmark Iron Age Hillfort, with habitat surveys, including evening bat & moth walks guided by experts from the Wildlife Trust.
Commenting on the visit, Andrea said:
“I am delighted to hear about the great work being done by the Friends of West Hunsbury Parks. The Iron Age Hillfort is a fantastic piece of local history and I would encourage everyone to learn more about it by taking part in some of the many planned events!”
All this is made possible by a recent grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund – yet another really interesting and worthwhile local cause thanks to National Lottery players! To find out more about these events either as a visitor or a volunteer please contact the Friends through their website – they are a friendly and enthusiastic group always keen to meet anyone with interests in wildlife & history, or to join in their activities.”
